Mid term review of the KENET project on Wednesday July 20th

After all the emotional community days it felt nice and calming to go back to real work and get our project one step further. Yesterday we presented the mid term report to our client – KENET – in Nairobi. They seemed to be happy with what we had accomplished so far and it felt good of course. I have to say I could not be happier about the client we have. They keep on treating us well and are extremely committed to the project. What a difference does it make to all of us! The event was attended by all KENET staff and most of the KENET board members.

We got even some publicity on their website ;-)) http://www.kenet.or.ke/

In the afternoon of the same day we had the honour to interview the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science and Technology, professor Kiamba at the Ministry of Education.

Travel days to Nairobi can be tiring but the work itself is so inspiring that a few hours each way in the car are actually just fine. This is so different to my daily work back at home that I try to take a most of it and learn what I can.

On our way back from Nairobi to Nakuru we saw beautiful light over the Rift Valley - this was just before a heavy rain and thunderstorm started. As always there was a need for a photo stop ;-))

Early on Friday morning the IBM CSC team will head to Masai Mara for a 3 day safari so no updates until Monday most probably. Excited to visit one of the most famous National Parks of Kenya. Hoping to see all "big five".

Good Night = Lala Salama!

  1. After all that one month's great experience of making something at least a little difference there must be hunger for more!
