Where did the time go?

The preparation phase for this assignment was 3 months (from April to June) and I have to say time has flown by. It feels like we just started to get ready and now we are only less than 2 days away from the departure to Kenya...Hard to believe. :-O

These three months have been really valuable and interesting. We have learned about cultural adaptability, our clients, development work in emerging markets, CSC program in general, our assignment country Kenya and of course a lot about the actual projects we are going to work on while in the country. Weekly calls and quite a bit of e-learning have helped the team of 12 to get ready in all possible ways. It will be exciting to meet all these team members face to face after having worked with them for 3 months over the phone and mails.

Thursday will be the main packing day and spending the last precious moments with my sons before leaving on Friday. I have no idea if I have got all I need but I guess time will tell. Need to learn how to prioritize when thinking what to take with me and what to leave behind. Heh, this has never been too easy for me...(see, better safe than sorry... ;-) )

I wonder how the boys will take me leaving for an entire month...makes me think but then again I know they will enjoy the summer in Finland. Benefits of current technology is that you can at least see and hear your family even from the distance.

Excitement raising the closer the departure gets...
